University of Cincinnati School of Business

Cincinnati, OH

Ben Hur erected the structural steel and architectural precast forming the new Linder College of Business building at the University of Cincinnati.  Ben Hur provided the design and installation of shoring for the largest cantilevered section, which when the building was completed, was supported by a roof  truss system (3 total areas of the building cantilevered between 10’ and 30’).  The 56 architectural precast columns provided support for a portion of this four-story, 1400 ton building. The roof has 29 different planes, making for some unique challenges. Ben Hur also installed the precast stairs, inside the 4 cast in place shear towers. There are 2 large elevated courtyards within the footprint of this structure. When open, this building will be home to more than 240 faculty open spaces, a 150 seat two story lecture hall, research labs, numerous exam and tutoring areas, and a 250 seat auditorium.
